Infrastructure as a service (IaaS):
Is a standardized, highly automated offering, where compute resources, complemented by storage and networking capabilities are owned and hosted by a service provider and offered to customers on-demand. Customers are able to self-provision this infrastructure, using a Web-based graphical user interface that serves as an IT operations management console for the overall environment. API access to the infrastructure may also be offered as an option.
As with all cloud computing services Powerhouse Systems can provides access to computing resource in a virtualized environment, “Cloud”, across a public connection, usually the INTERNET. In the case of IaaS the computing resource provided is specifically that of virtualized hardware, in other words, computing infrastructure. The definition includes such offerings as virtual server space, network connections, bandwidth, IP addresses and load balancer's.
Network infrastructure refers to a business interconnected computer and information technology (IT) systems. Largely the infrastructures are closed, meaning the computer network can only be accessed within the business and is not connected to the Internet or other networks at large.
